Anita Mayo is a special counsel in the law firm's Political Law practice and is located in the San Francisco office. She focuses on the laws of campaign finance, lobbying, ethics, and conflicts of interest. Ms. Mayo provides compliance advice to corporate, political committee, high net worth individual, trade association, and candidate clients regarding federal, state and local political laws. She also routinely testifies before local governmental agencies.
Ms. Mayo authored "In Practice: Political Law" in the Fall 2000 edition of Careers and the Minority Lawyer. She also coauthored "No Room for Novices: Campaign Regulation in the ‘90s" in the San Francisco Barrister Law Journal, appearing in the August/September 1997 edition of San Francisco Attorney.
Ms. Mayo is an active member of her community, including membership in the San Francisco graduate chapter of a national sorority and Parliamentarian of a social service organization. She is a former member of the Howard University Board of Trustees, a former Executive Committee Member and former National President of the Howard University Alumni Association, President Emeritus of a San Francisco nonprofit organization, former Vice President and Management Committee Chair of a $12M San Francisco social service organization, and a former cohost and coproducer of a cable television program in San Francisco.
