Charles H. Peterson
|
Mr. Peterson, a partner in Pillsbury's Energy Section, concentrates his practice on international energy projects, licensing new nuclear reactors, and nuclear fuel procurement. He represents companies in the energy industry in complex commercial transactions. Currently he is the legal advisor to two utility groups that are negotiating with foreign-owned companies for nuclear power plants. He is an advisor to foreign reactor vendors that intend to construct new nuclear power plants, and has worked in Japan and several European countries, including an extended period in Russia. He is currently representing a U.S. utility in a dispute over the ownership of uranium involving litigation in three countries. The matter is now before the Supreme Administrative Court in Germany.
Prior to joining Pillsbury, Mr. Peterson was with Cogema, the French nuclear fuel company, as the first executive vice president of its U.S. subsidiary. Earlier, he was counsel in General Electric's Nuclear Energy Division. A retired U.S. Naval reserve Captain, he served as chief engineer on board several nuclear submarines.
