Planet Labs Secures $52 Million in Series B Funding
Deborah A. Carrillo
Deborah Carrillo is an attorney in Pillsbury's Corporate & Securities practice. Located in the law firm's San Francisco office, she focuses on the startup space—helping new ventures throughout their lifecycle, from formation and financings through exit planning, mergers and acquisitions.
She also brings substantial intellectual property experience to address issues that startups often face, including data privacy policies and technology licensing—particularly in the creation of online terms of service agreements.
Among the startups Ms. Carrillo has worked with are Planet Labs, BandPage, Iddiction, Breaktime Studios, Wild Needle, Idle Games, Accellion, Musigram, Matterport, Hear It Local, Swapdom, eConais and Grow Mobile. She is an active participant in startup organizations such as YetiZen, 800 Birds and Women 2.0.
Ms. Carrillo also advises venture capital firms, such as Blumberg Capital, Signia Capital Ventures and Walden Venture Capital, in early-stage financings. Ms. Carrillo’s practice also includes private equity work focusing on investment fund formation and investments in PE funds.
Ms. Carrillo's practice includes representing private and public companies on mergers and asset acquisitions.
Prior to law school, Ms. Carrillo taught mathematics at various levels within the public education system including middle school, high school and university. She has a Master’s degree in Education from Stanford University.
At the University of California, Berkeley, Boalt Hall School of Law, Ms. Carrillo served as an executive editor of the California Law Review and won the Moot Court Advocacy Award.
