2023 Americas M&A Atlas Awards Honors Jim Masetti as Lawyer of the Year

As a part of its Americas Dealmakers Awards category, Corporate partner and Semiconductor Industry Group leader Jim Masetti was honored as M&A Lawyer of the Year.

Masetti advises a global clientele on transformative corporate, securities and finance deals. He has managed complex cross-border M&A transactions for both public and private buyers and sellers, including buyers and sellers located in the UK, China, Israel, Korea and the Philippines, across a variety of industries, including software development, semiconductors, cybersecurity and communications technology.

Among Masetti’s many transactions in 2023, he notably represented Rockley Photonics, Ltd. in its $1.2 billion merger with special purpose acquisition company SC Health Corp. and advised Tremor International Ltd. in its $239 million acquisition of Amobee, Inc. from Singapore-based Singtel, which was also honored as the 2023 Cross-Border M&A Deal of the Year.

In connection with Pillsbury’s advisement of Tremor, the firm also served as counsel for Tremor’s related secured loan financing consisting of a $90 million term loan and a $90 million revolving credit facility. The $90 million term loan and the drawn portion of the revolving credit facility at closing were used, together with available cash on hand, to finance the acquisition of Amobee.

Additionally, Pillsbury’s representation of Regalix in its acquisition by MarketStar Holdings earned the firm the Media & Marketing Deal of the Year in the Americas Industry Awards (Mid-Market) category. The acquisition included all of Regalix’s subsidiaries, one of which is an AI-based SaaS platform that enhances sales performances and revenue outcomes for B2B revenue generation teams.
