Pillsbury congratulates its high-caliber team of construction lawyers, which has just been named a finalist for Chambers USA 2011 Awards for Excellence.

Led by San Francisco Construction Litigation partner John Heisse, whom recently joined Pillsbury from Howrey along with partner Robert Thum in Los Angeles, and partners David Dekker, Melissa Lesmes, Jeffrey Gans and Michael McNamara in DC, our colleagues join Michael Evan Jaffe, Ronan McHugh, Mark White, John Poulos, Eric Fishman and others to form a Construction Litigation team of 28 attorneys who provide mediation, arbitration and litigation services before and during the construction phase and in post-construction proceedings. This includes representing clients in litigation in federal and state courts throughout the United States, and in cases before domestic and international arbitral tribunals. To help clients avoid litigation, we also offer counseling services to troubled projects that allow our attorneys to assist in getting a project back on track should it show signs of "going sideways." The team also works extremely closely with attorneys such as Noa Clark, Rob James and Mike Hindus in Pillsbury's Real Estate and Energy Infrastructure & Projects practices regarding highly complex, costly infrastructure and real estate transactional projects that could benefit from construction arbitration and dispute resolution counseling.

Teams are selected based on preeminence in their practice area and achievements in the past year that include outstanding work, impressive strategic growth and excellence in client service. Our team from Howrey was part of the group which previously won the Award for Excellence in Construction Law in 2008 and 2010. The 2011 winners will be announced in June at an awards dinner at Cipriani’s in New York.
