  • Represented JX Nippon Oil & Gas Exploration Corporation in acquisition, development and JBIC and Mizuho Bank, Ltd.-financing of a $1 billion carbon capture and storage and enhanced oil recovery project.

    • Advised the lenders in connection with a £29 million ECA facility made available to a Brazilian group of companies. The facility was supported by a guarantee provided by Eurler Hermes.
    • Advised BNDES in connection with financings for Azul, American Airlines, Hong Kong Aviation Capital, JetBlue and Republic Airways.
    • Counseled Development Bank of Japan, as guaranteed lender, in connection with over 20 U.S. Ex-Im Bank financings.
    • Represented Export Development Canada on the finance leases for five ATR72-500 aircraft.
    • Represented Export Development Canada on the financing of four Bombardier aircraft for an Italian carrier.
    • Represented Export Development Canada on financing of ten Bombardier CRJ 900 and Q400 aircraft.

    • Advised JP Morgan and other investors on the purchase of Iraqi and Russian debt claims.
    • Advised Habib Bank AG Zurich in relation to certain of its standard form trade finance documentation.
    • Advised a major UK clearing bank on the standardisation of its trade finance documentation including the drafting of general terms which will apply to all trade transactions undertaken by the bank for its customers on a global basis.
    • Advised the lenders in respect of revolving credit facilities and receivables discount facilities made available to JCB Limited (a UK yellow goods manufacturer).
    • Advised a major European bank on a standard form template for forfaiting.
    • Advised JP Morgan in relation to certain standby letter of credit facilities made available to the investors for the acquisition of ProSiebensAT.1 Media AG.

    • Represented Tozzi Green and Ergon Peru on the financing of three off-grid solar power concessions in Peru by commercial banks and Peru development finance institution COFIDE.
    • Represented Globeleq, Inc., in connection with its purchase, development and financing by U.S. Ex-Im Bank and CABEI of a 200 MW portfolio of wind generation assets in Central America.
    • Represented a global banking and financial services company in connection with the U.S. Ex-Im Bank loan to Abener Energia S.A. and Instalaciones Inabensa S.A. in connection with the construction of two solar parabolic trough plants totaling 100 MW.
    • Represented FMO and ABSA Bank Limited on refinancing arrangements in relation to the management buy-out of Copperbelt Energy Corporation (Zambia).
    • Represented JBIC, NEXI, K-Exim and the corporate lenders on the proposed financings for the Hassyan IPP in Dubai.
    • Represented JBIC in relation to its direct investment in the US$3.5 billion Ras Laffan C IWPP in Qatar.
    • Represented the JBIC and the leading Japanese commercial banks on the Sinop nuclear project.
    • Represented multinational financial institution, as U.S. Export-Import Bank facility agent and intercreditor agent, regarding financing of the Talas de Maciel I Wind Project in Uruguay.

    • Represented a multinational financial institution in connection with a $214 million senior secured multi-currency term loan financing for cellular provider Digicel Honduras, involving international finance agencies, including the International Finance Corporation.
    • Represented a multinational financial institution in connection with a $170 million senior secured term loan financing for cellular provider Digicel Panama, involving international finance agencies, including the International Finance Corporation.
    • Represented the co-lender in an OPIC-supported financing of a mobile telecommunications project in Lithuania.
  • Infrastructure Projects
    • Represented affiliates of American Commercial Lines as borrowers on the project financing by the International Finance Corporation of two port terminals on the Orinoco River.
    • Represented Samsung Engineering, United Utilities and Invest AD regarding the development and financing led by KEXIM of the Muharraq sewage treatment plant in Bahrain.
    • Represented JBIC and the commercial lenders on equity bridge arrangements for proposed financings for Bahrain’s Muharraq wastewater treatment project) and Oman’s Sur IPP.
