  • Represented investment firm Eagle Four Partners in the purchase of the former Fashion Island Hotel in Orange County, California.
  • Represented Newport Center Ventures LLC in the purchase of the 532-room Newport Beach Marriott Hotel & Spa for approximately $216 million and the financing for the purchase and planned renovations, including a $170 million debt financing.
  • Represented the purchaser and borrower in the $1 billion+ purchase of the 25-story, 697,958-square-foot office and retail building, Hudson Commons, at 441 Ninth Avenue in Manhattan.
  • Represented Pebblebrook Hotel Trust in its acquisition of the 210-room Estancia La Jolla Hotel & Spa in La Jolla, California for $108 million.
  • Represented NuovoRE, a real estate firm that specializes in historic restoration, in its arrangement with Pendry Hotels & Resorts to build a 168-guestroom hotel at the corner of East Sixth and Main streets in the historic Gwynne Building of Downtown Cincinnati. The total cost of the project is expected to exceed $80 million.
  • Representing policyholder in a major construction defect case with damages in excess of $150 million. The insurance recovery aspects are unique in that there are only a few published cases confirming insurance coverage for resulting damage covered as an exception to the “cost of making good” exclusion in a property policy.
  • Representing Foster Wheeler in a multi-billion dollar ICSID arbitration against Colombia (ICSID Case No. ARB/19/34) for violations of the United States-Colombia Trade Promotion Agreement, arising from a construction project in Colombia.
  • Advised Ullico Infrastructure Fund on the acquisition of the Arizona business and operations of Triton Utilities, Inc., which owns and operates 14 water and wastewater utilities across the state.
  • Represented a joint venture of Corem Kelly AB, a subsidiary of Corem Property Group of Sweden, and New York City-based GDS Development Management in entering into a 15-year lease at 1245 Broadway with A24 Films LLC, an award-winning global film and television studio.
  • Represented Jay Paul Company with the development of an 802-foot mix-used tower located at 181 Fremont Street. The building—San Francisco’s third highest tower—is in the heart of San Francisco’s South of Market district and it features both condominiums and office space, which has been leased to Facebook.
  • Represented Corem Kelly AB, a publicly traded Swedish real estate company, in the $23 million purchase of the ground leasehold for 118 10th Avenue in Manhattan.
  • Represented Christopher Todd Communities in an exclusive strategic partnership deal with Taylor Morrison Home Corp. to build hybrid rental products for the single-family rental market across the country.
  • Represented the United States Postal Service in connection with the $798 million long-term lease to Tishman Speyer in the Morgan General Mail Facility in Manhattan.
