Gerald Charnoff

Mr. Charnoff concentrates on nuclear power, utilities, and environmental law, and related international energy and fuel transactions, and has represented numerous electric utilities, architects, engineers and other individuals and corporations under statutes administered by the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Department of Justice. One of the initiators of Russian-American agreements to convert highly enriched uranium recovered from dismantled nuclear weapons to low-enriched uranium for use as fuel in commercial nuclear power reactors, he is familiar with the laws of the U.S. and related nuclear non proliferation programs of the U.S. Mr. Charnoff has extensive arbitration and mediation experience and has served as an arbitrator in a number of complex matters for the American Arbitration Association and as a mediator in complex multiparty disputes before the Maryland courts.
Mr. Charnoff was honored with the Micah Social Responsibility Award by Panim, The Institute for Jewish Leadership and Values. He has also received the Judge Learned Hand Award (AJC), the JINSA Leadership Award, and the City of Peace Award of the State of Israel Bonds.
