Gerald F. George
|
Mr. George practices in the area of environmental law and litigation. For over 30 years, he has handled major civil litigation throughout the U.S., and advises clients on compliance with federal and state air, water, waste, and environmental impact review laws. Recently he has represented major utilities and oil companies in resolving claims for response costs and natural resource damages by federal, state and tribal governments; a large California county government in resolving natural resource damage claims and addressing TMDL compliance at a County park; and international mining companies with respect to resolution of response cost/natural resource damage claims and closure/reclamation obligations at multiple facilities. He is also an experienced mediator, having conducted over 60 mediations since entering private practice.
Mr. George is a former senior lawyer in the Environmental Enforcement Section of the U.S. Department of Justice, where he managed the Section's San Francisco field office.
