Pillsbury’s West Coast Offices Take Over 14th Spot in M&A League Tables
According to mergermarket’s M&A League Tables for North America, 2009 M&A activity finished on a positive note, thanks in large part to a robust fourth quarter. Pillsbury’s West Coast offices had an especially productive year, moving up in the West Coast Legal Advisors rankings to 14th position based on volume from 23rd position in 2008. The 2009 year-end tally showed that Pillsbury completed 26 deals valued at more than $6.5 million.

Pillsbury Named to BTI's 2010 Client Service Top 30 List
Pillsbury has been named to the 2010 BTI Client Service 30, an annual survey which honors the best law firms in providing client service to the Fortune 1000. Pillsbury ranked 17 and was named "Best of the Best" for Anticipating Client's Needs, as well as a leader in Dealing with Unexpected Changes, Advising on Business Issues, producing Quality Legal Products and for Unprompted Communication to clients. The Firm was also recognized in 10 other areas of service, including Client Focus, Understanding the Client's Business, Commitment to Help, and Meeting the Scope and Budget for assignments. Pillsbury Chair Jim Rishwain to Receive 2009 CEO Diversity Leadership Award
Pillsbury Firm Chair James M. Rishwain, Jr. has been selected for a 2009 CEO Diversity Leadership Award by Diversity Best Practices. ACQ Finance Magazine, a UK-based publication, has chosen two Pillsbury practices as “2009 Environmental Law Firm of the Year” and “2009 Aviation Law Firm of the Year.” Award winners were selected by 59,000 global readers consisting industry peers and an in-house panel of experts. This annual recognition includes law firm winners from 35 countries.

In Corporate Counsel’s fifth annual survey of in-house counsel of the Fortune 500, Pillsbury was once again designated as a “Go-To Firm.” Less than one-half of one percent of all American law firms are so recognized. Nine companies, including Bank of New York, Bristol-Myers Squibb, Chevron, New York Life Insurance, Raytheon, Safeway, Synnex Corporation and Valero Energy, have designated Pillsbury as their firm of choice in six practice areas: Corporate Transactions, Intellectual Property, International, Labor & Employment, Litigation and Securities.
