Mr. Cartmell's practice embraces all aspects of corporate representation, with emphasis on public and private offerings, mergers and acquisitions and corporate governance matters. He is the co-leader of the firm's Mergers & Acquisitions specialty team and former manager of the Corporate & Securities group.

In addition to routinely advising corporate clients on securities disclosures and general governance matters, Mr. Cartmell has counseled numerous corporations on merger and acquisition activity, including spinoffs of various businesses and technologies.

Mr. Cartmell also represents board committees on related party transactions and corporate investigations.

Mr. Cartmell received a B.A. from Yale University in 1973 and his J.D. from Vanderbilt School of Law in 1978. He is a member of the ABA Mergers and Acquisitions and Securities Regulation Committees and a past member of the Committee of Corporations of the California State Bar. Mr. Cartmell lectures frequently on corporate disclosure, governance and transactional matters.
