Mr. Davis primarily represents large corporations in complex commercial matters, in a variety of forums. He has particular experience in advising clients on their electronic discovery and records management obligations, including overseeing large collections and reviews of electronically stored information, as well as computer forensic and data security breach investigations.  He also commonly represents financial institutions in connection with structured debt instruments and credit default swaps.  He is a member of the firm’s E-Discovery team and its Financial Services Litigation team.  He received the 2009 Burton Award for Distinguished Legal Writing.

  • Representation of a corporate trustee in connection with the liquidation of an array of defaulted cash and synthetic CDOs.
  • Representation of a corporate trustee in state and federal bondholder litigations arising out of the default of hundreds of millions of dollars of debentures issued in connection with foreign real estate developments.
  • Representation of Japanese trading company in multi-forum actions arising out of defaulted Brazilian offshore drilling rig construction projects involving claims of hundreds of millions of dollars in damages.
  • Pro bono representation of an inmate on death row in Alabama in his petition for a new trial.
