Matus and Davis Awarded Burton Award for Legal WritingNew York litigators Wayne Matus and John E. Davis have been named the winners of a 2009 Burton Award for Distinguished Legal Writing. Their New York Law Journal article, “Does Your Search Pass Judicial Scrutiny?,” was noted by the NYLJ editor as perhaps one of the best articles about E-Discovery she had ever read. The Award honors writing that is highly persuasive, concise and free of legal jargon.
Burton Award recipients are selected by the Burton Foundation (www.burtonawards.com) in a highly competitive process based on nominations from senior management at the largest U.S. law firms. Law firms are only allowed to nominate one article per year.
Matus and Davis will receive their award at a ceremony and dinner to be held at the Library of Congress on June 15, 2009. This is the second year in a row that Pillsbury attorneys have been recognized with a Burton Award.
