Mr. Whitney is the managing partner of the New York office. Prior to assuming that role, Mr. Whitney was the firm-wide leader of Pillsbury's Finance practice section, a group that includes the firm's Asset-Backed Finance, Banking, Derivatives, Distressed Investing, Energy & Infrastructure Projects, Islamic Finance, Leveraged Finance, Municipal Finance, Structured Finance, Trade & Commodities Finance and Transportation Finance practices. Mr. Whitney's primary focus is representing U.S. and international commercial banks and finance companies in secured and unsecured financings as well as U.S. and international holding and operating companies as borrowers. Mr. Whitney's assignments have included representing lead agents and arrangers in acquisition financings, structured finance, asset-backed financing, securitizations, aircraft and equipment financing, satellite financing and capital markets financings, in addition to financings of general corporate and working capital funds. Mr. Whitney also frequently represents international corporations in connection with cross-border acquisition and other financings.
Mr. Whitney's transactional experience spans a wide variety of industries, from the new technologies and telecommunications sector to classic industries such as manufacturing, product distribution, utilities, transportation and financial services, with representations of lenders and companies based throughout the world, including Asia, Latin America, Australia, Europe, Africa, the Middle East and North America.
Mr. Whitney is very involved in his community as well, serving as the vice-chair of the Board of Zoning Appeals in his town. Mr. Whitney also serves as the President of the Board of Trustees of the Tuxedo Park School, a 224 student private elementary school.- Deal of the Year, Total Terminals Deal—Recognized, Asian-Counsel (2007)
