Kym Harshaw is a counsel in the law firm's Energy practice and is located in the Washington, DC office. She works on a variety of nuclear energy issues, involving licensing, compliance and enforcement matters before the Nuclear Regulatory Commission. Ms. Harshaw regularly supports clients in investigating and responding to NRC referred allegations. She also represents clients in responding to NRC investigations and related enforcement matters. This work includes performing independent investigation and defending witnesses in interviews by the NRC Office of Investigations.
Ms. Harshaw also represents both licensees and vendors in preparing for significant NRC inspections, preparing for enforcement conferences and responding to findings. She has been involved in new plant licensing, license transfers, and independent spent fuel facility license renewal proceedings.
Ms. Harshaw also represents materials licensees and has assisted several clients seeking NRC distribution licenses.Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Harshaw was a manager with a utility where she provided leadership in diverse areas including nuclear licensing, emergency planning, corrective action program, and outage and online work management. She also served as Chief Nuclear Counsel for a utility where she advised on commercial, nuclear licensing, and personnel issues.
