Laura Hurtado is a senior associate in the law firm’s Litigation practice and is located in the San Francisco office. She is a general litigator with experience working in a variety of areas including employment, securities and antitrust law.
Prior to joining Pillsbury, Ms. Hurtado served as a law clerk to the Honorable William Alsup, U.S. District Judge, in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California. Her clerking experience encompassed a wide variety of matters, including complex securities matters and civil and criminal trials. Ms. Hurtado spent two years as an attorney at the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights focusing on homeless and immigrants’ rights litigation and policy advocacy.
While in law school, Ms. Hurtado was an Associate Managing Editor of the Stanford Journal of International Law. She also worked as a legal intern for the ACLU Immigrants’ Rights Project.
Before law school, Ms. Hurtado spent two years as a paralegal in the Antitrust Division of the U.S. Department of Justice. She spent one year in the appellate practice section in Washington D.C. and another year in the litigation section of the San Francisco field office.
