Martin Krall is senior counsel in the law firm's business transactions practice, counseling on matters involving real estate, corporate, securities, media and labor. Mr. Krall concentrates on problems at the intersection of law and business. His focus is to understand his clients’ business objectives and to fashion legal solutions that meet these goals.

Until early 1995, Mr. Krall was a partner at Shaw Pittman and Vice Chairman of the firm. His legal practice primarily involved serving as counselor to, and managing the firm’s relationship with, numerous entrepreneurial clients involved in a wide variety of industries, including real estate, finance, publishing and health care.

From 1995 until late 2004, Mr. Krall served as Executive Vice President and Chief Legal Officer of the New York Daily News, U.S. News and World Report and a number of affiliated public and private companies in the publishing, printing and prepress/asset management industries. In these positions, Mr. Krall was responsible for all litigation and other legal matters, including corporate, securities, real estate, antitrust, labor, employment discrimination, First Amendment and intellectual property. Mr. Krall also played the lead role in negotiating the business terms for IPOs and other public offerings, mergers, acquisitions, asset dispositions, financings and collective bargaining agreements with numerous unions.
