Aaron Oser, a partner and member of Pillsbury’s global sourcing practice in Washington, D.C., is quoted in an article about IT outsourcing trends to watch in 2013. With the IT services industry experiencing merger and acquisition activity in 2012, there was a more globally distributed marketplace and an increased focus on business outcomes.

Looking at the year ahead for the industry, Oser said 2013 has potential for being a year of growth in outsourcing.

“Customers will require their suppliers to either integrate with or adopt cloud-based service management systems, such as ServiceNow, in order to have a common platform and single source of truth for service management activities,” Oser said.

On third-generation outsourcing deals, Oser said, “Most customers will re-sign with their incumbent given the operational risk and financial constraints associated with moving to a new supplier.”
