Allison Leopold Tilley, a Silicon Valley-based partner in Pillsbury’s corporate and securities practice, has been named to The Recorder’s 2013 list of “Women Leaders in Technology Law.” This year, the publication’s editors recognized 50 women who have “demonstrated leadership and expertise in solving the most pressing legal concerns tech companies can face.”

The Recorder’s Editor in Chief Greg Mitchell said: “These are the lawyers who get the call for that first, crucial funding round, the patent dispute only scientists can understand, the licensing-as-lifeline deal, the long-sought liquidity event.”

Leopold Tilley discussed her practice in an interview which was published in The Recorder on September 25, 2013. When asked what she enjoys most about working with Silicon Valley companies, she responded, “You never know what the day is going to bring. I love working with startup companies and watching them accomplish the impossible. I love learning about new technologies before the average person has even heard of them — let alone used them — and I love seeing startups grow and realize their dreams either through IPO or M&A.”

She noted that she’d like to see more women in upper management, starting companies in the technology space and serving on boards of directors.
