A Pillsbury team co-led by partners Allison Leopold Tilley and Stanley Pierson represented long-time client CloudVolumes Inc., a software developer, in last week’s sale to VMware Inc.

According to a VMware press release, the CloudVolumes real-time application delivery technology will work with the VMware Horizon product and will allow VMware customers to centrally manage and continuously update apps for use in a variety of virtual environments. The companies say the CloudVolumes system will allow for more modern, mobile-like application delivery.

Leopold Tilley, who is based in Pillsbury’s Silicon Valley office, told The Recorder she found working on the deal to be a positive experience, having served as counsel in the $1.26 billion sale of Nicira Inc. to VMware two years ago.

“It was interesting working with VMware again, as they’re very seasoned buyers and fairly easy to work with,” she said.
