San Diego-based wireless technology provider Qualcomm Inc. announced this week that its subsidiary Qualcomm Atheros will acquire Ikanos Communications Inc. in a deal estimated to be worth more than $45 million.

Ikanos is based in Fremont, Calif., and manufactures semiconductors and software for communications and networking applications. The deal follows several years of M&A activity for Qualcomm and comes amid the company’s strategic review of its corporate structure and spending, according to The Deal.

The Pillsbury team representing Ikanos included partners Allison Leopold Tilley, Gabriella Lombardi, Howard Clemons and Peter Hunt; senior counsel Chuca Meyer; and associates Matt Desharnais, Derek Chien and Khan Shing.
