Washington, DC-based Global Security Services partner Brian Finch appeared this weekend on Fox News in the wake of the Paris terror attacks. Finch discussed with the anchor and a fellow guest what the United States is doing to prevent similar attacks in the U.S.

“We have a very good intelligence community in the United States,” he said. “We’ve been working … since 9/11 to really coordinate our information, tighten up our borders, really put together some very good domestic law enforcement that can track down these cells.”

However, it is too easy for radicals to access resources to aid them in planning attacks, Finch said, which necessitates more direct action.

“Nothing will ever stop these types of attacks,” he said. “It’s not enough to pat yourself on the back for taking out individuals who do social media or who conduct televised executions ….” We actually need to go in there, we need to disrupt, and we need to make sure that there is no secure place where the enemy has freedom of movement to take the time and the energy and the training necessary to launch a coordinated event like this.”
