The National Association of Insurance Commissioners last week rolled out guidance outlining the data security safeguards that regulators expect insurers to implement. This useful tool will help codify exiting best practices and provide insurers with more clarity on regulators' increased scrutiny. In light of recent high-profile data breaches, the principles provide insurers with rules of the road for cybersecurity.
