Press Release

December 22, 2016

Pillsbury announced today the appointment of six new office managing partners. These new leaders—with responsibility for the firm’s London, Los Angeles, New York, Northern Virginia, San Diego/Carmel Valley and San Francisco offices, respectively—will begin transitioning into their new leadership roles in the weeks ahead. They will all be fully in place by early 2017.

The incoming office managing partners are:

  • Kimberly Buffington in Los Angeles
  • R.J. Davis in Northern Virginia
  • Debra Erni in London
  • Edward Flanders in New York
  • Eric Kremer in San Diego/Carmel Valley
  • Roxane Polidora in San Francisco

“Office managing partners play a multitude of important roles, fostering productive work environments; leading local recruiting, community outreach and pro bono efforts; and collaborating with other offices to preserve Pillsbury’s defining one-firm mindset,” said Chair-elect David Dekker. “I look forward to the fresh perspectives of our incoming leaders and am tremendously grateful to those partners who will be stepping down for their many contributions over the years.”

Partner Jim Rishwain added: “Each of our outgoing leaders has given a great deal of time and energy for the sake of Pillsbury’s success. They have all proven to be indispensable resources to the Pillsbury Board, and I have no doubt our new leaders—and the firm as a whole—will continue to benefit from having their good counsel.”

Of note, half of the newly appointed office managing partners are women. Empowering women lawyers as leaders has been a point of emphasis for Pillsbury throughout its history, with the firm’s latest partner class—three-quarters of which is women—serving as another recent example of its commitment in that regard.
