PILLSBURY EXPANDS IN STRUCTURED FINANCE WITH NEW YORK PARTNERSJanuary 30, 2012
New York—Pillsbury today announced that Anthony Schouten and Jeffrey Stern have joined its Finance group as partners in New York. Formerly with Stroock & Stroock & Lavan LLP, the highly-regarded partners’ experience includes securitization, derivatives, commodities and cross-border structured financings. Their addition continues Pillsbury’s strategic expansion of its New York office and further strengthens the firm’s capabilities for advising commercial and investment banks, asset managers, private equity funds and global businesses in structured finance.
“These talented and innovative lawyers are outstanding additions to Pillsbury’s already deep bench of Finance practitioners. They will help us respond to the growing demand from our financial services clients for legal counsel on complex matters and allow us to broaden our service offerings in securitization and derivatives, including in the slowly rebounding CLO market,” said New York partner Mats G. Carlston, leader of Pillsbury’s Finance group. Carlston noted that Schouten and Stern join Pillsbury only two weeks after the firm added a trio of renowned Insolvency & Restructuring partners to its New York office, demonstrating Pillsbury’s strategic growth focus on the financial services sector.
“Pillsbury’s broad Finance profile coupled with the firm’s international platform and industry focus make it an exciting home for our practices,” Stern stated. “We look forward to offering our clients expanded capabilities by leveraging Pillsbury’s industry experience and strengths in regulation and litigation.”
