LOS ANGELES — The Daily Journal has announced that Corporate & Securities – Tech partner Jorge A. del Calvo has been named one of the top 100 lawyers in California among approximately 140,000 lawyers practicing in the state. Citing del Calvo’s work on three major deals in the last year, the legal publication profiled his extensive knowledge of the tech industry.

In June, del Calvo led a Pillsbury team that helped client PLX Technology close a $309 million sale to Singapore’s Avago Technologies, a provider of semiconductors. The Silicon Valley-based partner also represented Validity Sensors in its $96 million sale to Synaptics Inc. and Synnex Corp. in a $505 million acquisition of IBM’s customer-care outsourcing unit.

Del Calvo spoke to The Daily Journal about the many exciting opportunities ahead for the technology industry.

“The widespread adoption and spread of various disruptive technologies, including use of the cloud, social media and the ‘Internet of Things,’ along with more traditional technologies, have been major drivers,” he said. “While many of these technologies have been around for some time, their broad-based acceptance is relatively new.”

The Daily Journal announced its list of the Top 100 California lawyers at a reception in Beverly Hills on Sept 9.
