New York—Pillsbury more than doubled its 2010 high scores in the second edition (2011-2012) of U.S. News Media Group and Best Lawyers®“Best Law Firm” rankings – a comprehensive survey of America's top law firms – racking up 124 practice rankings, including 56 Tier 1 rankings (up from 27 last year) and 41 national rankings (up from 10 last year). Pillsbury added many new national and metropolitan rankings across the board, including Appellate Practice, Environmental Law, and Construction Law at the Tier 1 level. The survey also resulted in 128 individual rankings for Pillsbury attorneys, with 78 lawyers ranked in one or more of 75 major practice areas around the U.S., an increase over the firm’s 99 individual rankings in 2010.

An important addition to this year’s rankings is the recognition of one “Law Firm of the Year” in each of the 75 nationally-ranked practice areas. Law firms singled-out for this designation had “impressive overall performance in our research,” according to U.S. News and Best Lawyers. Pillsbury received this honor for “Equipment Finance Law,” which recognizes achievement in areas such as transportation, infrastructure and energy-related equipment financing.

"Pillsbury is extremely proud of the recognition we received from U.S. News and Best Lawyers, continuing our firm’s history of having among the most market leading practices and among the most talented practitioners. Pillsbury is pleased to have more than doubled our Tier 1 rankings over last year’s results - scoring high in practices supporting our strengths in energy and the environment, technology, financial services, real estate and health care," said Pillsbury partner Jim Rishwain. "We are grateful for our clients’ participation and their feedback for Pillsbury. Client service means the most to us and it is our clients’ success and approval that is most rewarding.”

All together, Pillsbury secured 56 Tier 1 rankings, 55 Tier 2 rankings and 13 Tier 3 rankings. Below is the complete list:
