EMC Corp., the world’s largest data-storage systems provider, announced last month its acquisition of Silicon Valley-based cloud technology company Maginatics. According to The Daily Journal, the Maginatics team, including CEO Amarjit Gil, will join with EMC’s Core Technologies Division.

“We founded Maginatics to bridge traditional data centers and newly emerging cloud-backed, software-defined architectures,” Maginatics said in a letter to its customers and partners. “Working together with EMC, we see the chance to realize our joint vision quickly and at limitless scale, delivering far-reaching benefits to the world’s largest IT customer community.”

The Pillsbury team was led by Silicon Valley partner Stanley Pierson, with assistance from counsel Minal Hasan and associates Khan Shing and Derek Chien. Executive Compensation & Benefits partner Cindy Schlaefer and IP senior counsel Jerald Rosenblum also worked on the deal, while partner Brian Wainwright and associate Tiffany Wu provided tax guidance.
