Pillsbury client Planet Labs, a San Francisco-based satellite imaging company, announced that it had raised $52 million in Series B funding. Its new investors include Yuri Milner, Industry Ventures LLC, Felicis Ventures, Lux Capital Management and Ray Rothrock.

Founded by former NASA scientists, Planet Labs uses satellite imaging to gather and distribute data about Earth for commercial enterprises and humanitarian purposes. According to the company’s press release, in 2013 alone the company launched four satellites on three rockets and delivered its first fleet of 28 satellites to the launch site.

San Francisco-based corporate and securities partner Mike Sullivan and associate Deborah Carrillo advised Planet Labs.
