Peter Hunt is a partner in the law firm's Executive Compensation & Benefits practice and is located in the New York office. He advises employers, financial institutions and investment funds on fiduciary and compliance issues under ERISA, the Internal Revenue Code and securities laws. Mr. Hunt regularly advises on the employee benefits and executive compensation aspects of corporate acquisitions and dispositions.
Specific areas of recent experience include designing stock option plans and other equity-based compensation plans for traditional and emerging technology companies; drafting complex employer pension, profit-sharing and executive compensation plans and trust agreements; applying for and obtaining IRS determination letters and private letter rulings and Department of Labor prohibited transaction exemptions and advisory opinions; advising employers and trustees on ESOP structurings and financings; and advising plan fiduciaries and fund managers on ERISA fiduciary and prohibited transaction issues.
Mr. Hunt is Chair of the Employment and Independent Contractor Status Subcommittee of the Employee Benefits Committee of the American Bar Association's Tax Section.
