Robert M. Bedgood, Ph.D.

Dr. Bedgood has over 13 years of experience in intellectual property law and an expansive scientific research background spanning over 25 years.
Dr. Bedgood concentrates his practice in the life sciences, with widespread experience in biotechnology, pharmaceuticals and diagnostics. He has significant experience providing non-profit, start-up and large multinational companies strategic intellectual property counseling and management, and developing and implementing successful patent strategies in the U.S. and in foreign jurisdictions. Dr. Bedgood has obtained broad, commercially meaningful patents in immunology, molecular biology and pharmacology, providing clients with critical intellectual property protection, which have led to high value transactions and investments with third parties. Dr. Bedgood also has extensive experience in evaluating intellectual property and performing due diligence for companies and investors, including patentability, product clearance, validity and infringement analyses and opinions, in connection with the sale, acquisition, licensing and financing of life science technology.
Prior to his legal career, Dr. Bedgood performed research in molecular biology and pharmacology, cell biology and biochemistry, and published in
peer review journals. After receiving his B.S. and Ph.D. in Biochemistry, he completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Stanford University Medical Center in molecular pharmacology.
