Mr. Christie is a consultant in the Pillsbury global sourcing practice. Mr. Christie is not an attorney. With 24 years experience around the world in the sourcing industry, including domestic and off shore transactions in the financial, telecommunications, distribution, government, and health care sectors, he has participated in the creation and implementation of strategic sourcing transactions, engagement diagnostic reviews, feasibility studies, alliance structuring, price negotiation, and contracting in the U.S., Europe, Asia and Australia.
Mr. Christie concentrates in large and complex IT transactions, with a particular emphasis in the financial issues of global measurement of cost and price, and their comparison, and has developed methodologies and supporting tools to assist clients in developing a clear view of this difficult financial analysis.
Since joining the firm in 1996, Mr. Christie has participated in many large telecom and AD&M sourcing transactions. In particular, Mr. Christie provided financial analysis support to: Telstra in a large outsourcing arrangement with IBM Australia, Providian Financial in a large ADM transaction with Accenture, and to Sprint. In the course of these engagements, Mr. Christie developed a number of complex pricing and financial analysis tools. These flexible tools greatly streamlined financial evaluation of complex bids by automating the comparison of vendor prices to customer costs for each class of IT service to be outsourced. They also increased the accuracy and certainty of pricing by automating a large number of cross checks to ensure that bid pricing is both consistent and complete.
Mr. Christie has also provided pricing and financial analysis support for domestic and global engagements and transactions for American Express, Honeywell, The Commonwealth of Australia, Fireman’s Fund, Baker and Taylor, California State Automobile Association, Pathmark, Amadeus, Charles Schwab, Equifax, Universal Music, Providian Financial, Solectron, and Sprint. Prior to joining Pillsbury, he was actively involved with international sales and operations activities of an outsourcing and software company that delivered sourcing solutions in the US and internationally.
