Catherine Meyer, an attorney in Pillsbury’s insolvency and restructuring group in Los Angeles, was quoted in an article discussing the $7 billion mobile applications industry. Powered largely by Bay Area developers, the industry is increasingly becoming an issue with lawmakers and lawsuits.

As the industry grows rapidly, most apps aren’t up to date with privacy standards and more specifically, not compliant with California’s recent privacy policy requirement.

When asked if apps had criteria relative to California’s privacy policy requirement, Meyer said, “My sense is a lot of (apps) don’t.”
