Tesoro Corp. will spend $2.5 billion to purchase a Southern California refinery and more than 800 gas stations in California, Nevada and Arizona. In addition, Tesoro will also acquire the ARCO brand.
A team of Pillsbury partners led by Bruce McDiarmid in San Francisco advised Tesoro on the acquisition. The team included: Robert A. James, Michael Murphy, Christine L. Richardson, Paula M. Weber, Patrick J. Devine, Michael S. Hindus, David R. Farabee, Glenn Q. Snyder and Robert J. Spjut; Los Angeles partners Michael R. Barr and Richard H. Zaitlen; and Houston partners Jerry W. Ross, Laura E. Hannusch and Brad Raffle. Associates on the deal included Brian P. Scaccia and Alicia M. McKnight in San Francisco, and Julia A. Miller in Los Angeles.
