    Organisation Internationale de la Vigne et du Vin: Wine Marketing Short Course

    The Organisation Internationale de la Vigne et du Vin (OIV), UC Davis Extension and the Department of Viticulture and Enology, have coordinated an intensive two week program on the economics of producing and marketing grapes and wine in the United States.

    Pillsbury's James Seff and Robert Burlingame will be participating during the first week of this Wine Marketing Short Course.

    This conference historically has drawn over one hundred fifty attendees per venue.  This year, our guest speakers from the United States Patent and Trademark Office will be Commissioner for Trademarks Debbie Cohn as our keynote speaker, Deputy Commissioner for Examination Policy Sharon Marsh, and Trademark Trial and Appeal Board Judges Lorelei Ritchie and Frances Wolfson.  John Welch, noted author of the TTABlog will present the 2010 trademark year in review, and a number of noted trademark practitioners will be presenting as well.  Pillsbury Counsel, Robert Burlingame, will be on a panel speaking about the following topic: "Thorny Issues in Trademark Prosecution".  His presentation will focus on geographic and surname hurdles.
