Paul Casas is the co-leader of Pillsbury’s Corporate Venture Capital practice and is a partner in Pillsbury’s Corporate practice.
Paul advises entrepreneurs, investors and startup companies across a variety of industries through all stages of their life cycle, including formation, seed and venture capital financings, mergers and acquisitions, private equity and fund formation. Paul also advises both strategic acquirers and target companies in their mergers and acquisitions, tender offers, joint ventures and other transactional matters.

- Advising AT&T in connection with various early-stage investments and mergers and acquisitions, including its investments in Databricks, AST SpaceMobile, Cyera and Carbyne, its acquisition and later sale of its Crunchyroll anime business to Funimation Global Group, LLC for $1.175 billion and its acquisition and later sale of Quickplay Media Inc.
- Advising Chevron Technology Ventures LLC in connection with various early-stage investments, including Aether Fuels Pte. Ltd., Li Industries, Inc., Ionomr Innovations Inc., Electric Era Technologies, Inc., Malta Inc., Boomitra Inc., Infinitum Electric, Inc., QuintessenceLabs Pty. Ltd., Xage Security, Inc., Zap Energy Inc., RayGen Resources Pty. Ltd., Ocergy, Inc., Natel Energy, Inc., Compact Membrane Systems, Inc., Syzygy Plasmonics Inc., Starfire Energy Inc., Strohm B.V. and Clarke Industrial Engineering, Inc.
- Advised Kiteworks (formerly known as Accellion) in its $120 million investment from Bregal Sagemount and, most recently, in its $456 million growth equity investment led by Insight Partners and Sixth Street Growth.

- Advised Xendit in its $300 million Series D funding round led by Coatue and Insight Partners.
- Advised Eat Just Inc. in its initial $170 million fundraise to help expand its cell-based meat subsidiary GOOD Meat as well as in its $200 million fundraise to build capacity for its pioneering products.
- Advised Chevron New Energies in its joint venture with Baseload Capital to develop geothermal projects in the U.S. and investment in Viridos.
- Advised CDP Venture Capital in connection with its investment in Nozomi Networks’ $100 million Series E financing.
- Advised Gather AI in its $17 million Series A-1 financing round led by Bain Capital Ventures.
- Advised CoPilot Systems in its $6.5 million Series A-1 financing round led by Jackson Square Ventures.
- Advised FLASHPOINT in its launch as the world’s first Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO) tournament owned and operated by team organizations.
