Craig de Ridder, a Pillsbury partner, handles complex partnership, joint venture, corporate finance, tax-advantaged investment, real estate, technology and infrastructure matters throughout the United States and globally.

Based in Washington, DC, Craig advises financial institutions, corporations, sponsors and government entities on sophisticated, multidisciplinary investments, partnership alliances and technology transactions drawing on extensive experience in the United States and internationally, including in India and the Middle East. His work involves the representation of clients developing, operating and managing high-profile projects and complex business activities, such as fund formation, foreign investment, equity placements, project finance, credit enhancement, global capability centers and a range of information technology matters. Clients rely on his strategic judgment to evaluate complex risks, manage expert teams and develop pragmatic solutions across matters that span multiple legal disciplines and markets.

Representative Experience

  • Represented the offeror of a multibillion-dollar apartment portfolio in negotiations with a major financial institution, including a master roll up of assets and liabilities backed by credit enhancement.
  • Structuring and negotiating the financing, development and operation of a prominent Middle East transportation project involving a public-private partnership, concessions and debt and equity funding from multiple international sources.
  • Advised the bank acquirer of a large portfolio of government supported housing assets in New York City, including restructuring tiered partnerships, subsidies and debt and equity sources.

  • Representing a large retailer in the licensing and distribution of designs and products in multiple jurisdictions, including Canada, China and the Middle East.
