Alana Lyman focuses her practice on insolvency, restructuring and related litigation matters.

Alana has experience assisting in all aspects of complex litigation and bankruptcy proceedings, including discovery, motions, mediation, trial and appeals. She represents debtors and creditors in chapter 11 bankruptcy cases, and her practice also includes the representation of foreign liquidators and representatives in chapter 15 cases.

Alana returns to Pillsbury following a clerkship with the Hon. Sean H. Lane in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York. During law school, Alana externed for the Hon. Elizabeth S. Stong in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of New York and the Hon. William J. Giacomo in the New York State Supreme Court, Westchester County, and also served as a law clerk in various civil litigation firms. Additionally, Alana was an associate editor for the Fordham Intellectual Property, Media & Entertainment Law Journal.

Representative Experience

  • Serves as U.S. counsel to the joint official liquidators of two affiliated Cayman Islands investment funds in their Cayman liquidation proceedings and related chapter 15 proceedings in the United States. (In re IIG Global Trade Finance Fund Ltd., et al.)
  • Represented Rockley Photonics Holdings Limited, a global leader in photonics-based health monitoring and communications solutions, in connection with the negotiation and implementation of its prepackaged chapter 11 plan to go private and restructure its business through transactions that eliminated more than $120 million of secured debt and generated additional funding from existing secured noteholders of approximately $35 million.
  • Represented independent director conducting investigation of claims against affiliates and third parties in Mariner Health Central skilled nursing facility bankruptcy case. (In re Mariner Health Central, Inc.)
