Brian Beckerman is a seasoned litigator with a diverse employment and high-stakes commercial litigation practice, with a particular emphasis on trade secrets disputes and contract disputes in the aviation and aerospace and technology industries.
Brian advises clients in matters in New York State and federal courts and other Northeast U.S. jurisdictions. Among his recent victories, Brian successfully obtained permanent injunctive relief and a damages award against two former employees following their theft of trade secrets and confidential and proprietary information. He also successfully defended a leading multinational aerospace company against contract and tort claims in a $200 million dispute arising out of the bankruptcy of a business aircraft charter company. In addition, Brian co-tried a bench trial on behalf of a family in an action arising from a trustee’s breach of fiduciary duties, resulting in a damages award and immediate removal of the trustee.

Brian is also an authority on the force majeure doctrine and related common law excuse doctrines as they pertain to COVID-19. He regularly advises startup clients on issues related to corporate governance and internal restructurings.
Before joining the firm in 2016, Brian was a legal intern at the Office of the Attorney General in Washington, DC, where he worked in the Public Safety Unit assisting with the prosecution of low-level criminal offenders. He also worked as an intern at the Employment Rights Unit of the Office of the Attorney General in Hartford, CT, where he assisted in defending state agencies against employment-related claims.
