Gurpreet Bal represents technology companies on corporate and securities matters in all stages of their business life cycle—from startup to maturity and exit transactions.
Gurpreet advises startup, venture-backed, private and public tech companies on wide array of corporate matters, including formation, governance, transactions and other day-to-day legal challenges. He has represented tech companies and investors in capital raising transactions including numerous private venture financings and public offerings in the U.S. and abroad. His clients include leaders and innovators in AI, semiconductors, biotech, software, networking, security, consumer tech and social enterprise, as well as investors in such companies. Gurpreet also has extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions, representing private and public companies in mergers, stock sales, tender offers, asset purchases, cross-border transactions in Europe and Asia, spin-offs, acqui-hires and other strategic transactions. Since 2010, he has closed more than forty such transactions, with an aggregate deal value of over $10 billion.
Represented Skyhigh Networks Inc. through several rounds of capital raising and subsequent in its sale to McAfee Inc.
Represented Wave Computing Inc. on venture and strategic financing transactions and acquisition of MIPS Technologies Inc.
Represented Exar Corporation in its divestiture of its iML business line to a China-based joint venture and the later sale of the company to MaxLinear Inc.
