Jaria Martin is an associate in the firm’s Regulatory practice.

Jaria advises clients across a wide range of sectors, including financial services, nonprofits and cybersecurity. Prior to joining Pillsbury, Jaria worked as a special assistant and committee clerk for the Committee on Education and Labor in the U.S. House of Representatives. With her experience in Congress, Jaria leverages her background to support clients’ objectives with respect to government law and strategies, government compliance and federal funding opportunities.

  • Advised Hyundai Steel on landmark U.S. manufacturing facility investment.
  • Advised leading cybersecurity companies on federal government affairs and advocacy strategies, securing favorable legislative language, raising their profiles in Washington, DC, and helping obtain federal contracts and funding.
  • Advised Blackhawk Network on federal and state government relations strategy, congressional inquiries and development of a national coalition that successfully advanced model legislation on gift card fraud prevention enacted in multiple states.

  • Represented the Professional Certification Coalition in opposing harmful state legislation, building a national coalition of nearly 90 members, and drafting and advocating for federal legislation expanding 529 savings plans to cover professional certifications.
  • Advised a U.S. subsidiary of a global defense company on government relations, national security and business development, including DoD engagement, joint venture support, facility negotiations and FMS/DPA/DPAS compliance.
