John Chamberlain is a counsel in Pillsbury’s Litigation practice, where he focuses on complex commercial litigation.

John’s practice runs the gamut of commercial disputes, including focusses in insurance recovery, construction litigation, international arbitration and global sourcing agreements. His clients include leading utilities, real estate developers, construction contractors and global manufacturers.

Representative Experience

  • Successfully defended Duke Energy against Westinghouse’s $482 million claim for termination costs resulting from the termination of an EPC Agreement for the Levy County nuclear power plant, after bench trial in federal court in North Carolina.
  • Representing an international mining and metallurgical company in negotiations with its insurers to settle environmental claims under historic liability coverage.
  • Successfully defended mining equipment manufacturer in international arbitration seeking over $200 million in damages based on claims of product defect.
