Martin Ruiz Garcia focuses his practice on all aspects of  international arbitration and cross-border commercial litigation.

Martin has experience representing clients in both international commercial arbitration and international investment arbitration. Martin has been involved in arbitrations under the rules of institutions like the ICC, ICSID, and the Bogota Chamber of Commerce, with a particular focus on the oil & gas, mining, and construction industries.

Representative Experience

  • Represented a leading engineering company in parallel ICC and ICSID arbitrations regarding the refurbishment of a refinery in Latin America.
  • Advised a Brazilian subcontractor in an ICC arbitration related to one of Latin America’s biggest hydroelectric projects.
  • Served as counsel for a Canadian oil & gas company in an arbitration under the rules of the Bogota Chamber of Commerce regarding a BOMT contract for an electrical plant to power an oil field in Colombia.
