Matt Reznick’s practice focuses on asset finance transactions and related matters in the aviation industry.

Matt has substantial experience acting for leading aircraft lessors, airlines and financial institutions covering all aspects of aircraft transactions, including operating and finance leases, aircraft sales and acquisitions, lease novations, residual value insurance policy claims, fleet restructurings (both out-of-court and through chapter 11), and various types of secured financings. Prior to joining Pillsbury, Matt worked for a major law firm in their asset finance group.

Representative Experience

  • Acted as finance counsel to Blue Owl Capital in connection with its acquisition of nine commercial aircraft from Zephyrus Aviation Capital, on lease to AirExplore, Heston Airlines, Iberia Express, Asiana Airlines, American Airlines, Wizz Air Hungary, Volaris and Avion Express.
  • Advised Azorra in connection with its portfolio acquisition of 49 Embraer aircraft and two spare engines from DAE.
  • Advised Azorra in connection with a $454 million Rated Term Loan B senior credit facility. This is Azorra’s inaugural capital markets transaction and was issued concurrently with a $1 billion revolving credit facility.

  • Represents Azorra in connection with three separate facilities totaling $450 million for the financing of 15 Embraer aircraft, each of which is backed by BNDES (Brazil’s National Bank for Economic and Social Development).
