Monica Parra is a senior associate who focuses her practice on general and complex litigation.

Monica has broad experience in pretrial litigation, including research and legal analysis, fact and expert discovery, dispositive motion practice and alternative dispute resolution. Formerly practicing in Pillsbury’s Los Angeles office, she represents individual and commercial clients from Northern to Southern California in both state and federal courts. Monica also has an active pro bono practice, including finalizing adoptions and advocating for related adoptive-placement benefits and representing clients seeking asylum in the United States.

Monica continues to serve on multiple committees in the Silicon Valley office, including the Attorney Development Committee, Summer Programs Committee and Recruiting Committee. She is also active in her community as a member of the board of directors for Bay Area nonprofit Support for Families of Children with Disabilities. Representative Experience

  • Represented a bank syndicate in a complex lender-liability matter with alleged damages over $500 million dollars, testing the boundaries of lost profit damages claims against lending institutions for their alleged breach of a credit facility and refusal to lend.
  • Prevailed on summary issue adjudication motions for various clients including FedEx and Banc of California.
  • Obtained a favorable arbitration award for private investment firm on various claims including breach of contract and wrongful termination.

  • Represented a board of directors audit committee in partnership with a prominent international audit firm to conduct an internal investigation related to embezzlement of company funds.
  • Successfully defended against dispositive pleading motions for Bay Area medical practice bringing claims related to captive insurance formation and claims handling.
  • Represented SaaS technology client in breach of contract action related to object code licensing.
