Preston Edmondson focuses his practice on complex commercial litigation, including pivotal antitrust disputes, breach of contract, business torts, patent infringement and other high-stakes business disputes. His practice also includes a wide range of appellate matters in both state and federal court, with a focus on the Fifth Circuit and Texas Courts of Appeal.

Preston handles a variety of trial and appellate matters, taking a lead role in researching and developing case strategies, drafting motions to dismiss and motions for summary judgment, arguing in state and federal court, as well as briefing in the Fifth Circuit and Texas Appellate Courts. In addition, Preston has gained substantial experience in antitrust law, including a focus on enforcement and defense of Sherman Antitrust Act and Clayton Act claims.

Prior to entering private practice, Preston clerked for the Honorable Mark Lane in the United States District Court for the Western District of Texas. During his tenure with Judge Lane, he developed his legal writing skills and honed a keen eye for detail, while immersing himself in numerous groundbreaking legal issues.

Before that, Preston was the editor-in-chief of The Review of Litigation and placed second overall in oral advocacy at the national Judge John R. Brown Admiralty Moot Court Competition. He also researched and drafted merit briefs, amicus briefs and petitions for certiorari in several high-profile cases before the United States Supreme Court as a member of the Supreme Court Clinic at the University of Texas School of Law.

  • Assisted in briefing and arguing a successful summary judgment defense in a major antitrust dispute in federal court on behalf of a market entrant in the health care industry against several health insurance companies.
  • Part of an appellate team in the successful defense of a trial court judgment in a major contractual dispute before the Texas Third District Court of Appeals.
