Ryan Cheung advises on a broad range of cross-border aircraft financing, leasing, sale and purchase transactions involving commercial aircraft, helicopters and aircraft engines.
Ryan has substantial asset-finance experience, with particular expertise across the aviation and transportation sectors. Prior to joining Pillsbury, Ryan completed a secondment with Airbus’s commercial and financing legal department in Toulouse, France.

- Advised a lessor on the sale-and-leaseback of four new Airbus aircraft delivered to Wizz Air.
- Advised a lessor-lender on the PDP financing of six Boeing 737-8 aircraft by Air Europa.
- Advised a leading African airline on a JOLCO relating to an Airbus A350-900.

- Advised a lessor on the (Labuan) restructuring of two aircraft leases relating to AirAsia X Berhad and Thai AirAsiaX.
- Advised various lessors on the sale/purchase and lease novation relating to various Boeing, Airbus and ATR aircraft across various jurisdictions.
- Advised an export credit agency on the subleasing of two ATR aircraft to a South African operator and one ATR aircraft to Air Tahiti.
- Assisted a Mongolian airline with the negotiation of a lease novation agreement.
