Stacie Kinser is a litigator in Pillsbury’s San Francisco office, where she focuses her practice on government investigations, white collar defense, and securities litigation.

Stacie represents clients in all stages of complex commercial litigation, from early phases of discovery through trial. She also has substantial experience responding to civil enforcement actions and criminal investigations initiated by various state and federal agencies, including the Securities and Exchange Commission, the Office for Civil Rights, the Department of Justice Tax and Antitrust Divisions, and local District Attorney Offices.

In 2019, Stacie participated in a secondment program with the San Francisco Public Defender’s Office, where she managed her own caseload, representing indigent clients in criminal proceedings from arraignment through jury trial.

Representative Experience

  • Argued successful motion to dismiss in putative class action alleging defamation, achieving complete and early resolution for major international news publication.
  • Working with coalition of Bay Area-based pro bono partners, won permanent injunction against Alameda County for its failure to timely process food stamps applications.
  • Represent a university in a variety of Title IX matters, including defending challenges to student disciplinary proceedings in mandamus trials, and handling a class action audit by the Office for Civil Rights.
