Stephanie Angkadjaja focuses her practice on environmental, health, and workplace safety compliance and enforcement matters.   

Stephanie concentrates her practice on process safety management (PSM) counseling and major incident response. She supports responses to inspections, investigations, and enforcement by the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Chemical Safety Board (CSB), California OSHA (CalOSHA), California EPA (CalEPA),  and other agencies. Stephanie draws from her experience as a refinery chemical engineer to inform her perspective, relate to her clients’ concerns, and approach issues efficiently.

Representative Experience

  • Represented terminal operator in litigation filed against trucking company that caused damage to the terminal, resulting in a settlement of approximately $4,000,000.
  • Represented metals company in connection with an employee amputation incident, and assisted with the investigation of the incident, evidence preservation, safety enhancements, and defense of OSHA violations.
  • Represented crop farm in connection with an employee leg amputation injury, and assisted with the investigation of the incident and appeal and settlement of five citations.

  • Represented semiconductor company in connection with a partial finger amputation incident, and assisted with the appeal and settlement of four Cal/OSHA citations.
  • Defending a leading Fortune 500 retailer against Proposition 65 claims and litigation involving the oversight and management of indemnity counsel for the retailer’s suppliers.
  • Seconded to one of the largest independent refiners to assist with CalOSHA Program Quality Verification (PQV) inspection; defends refiner against CalOSHA citations alleging violations of PSM regulations.
  • Represented world’s largest independent refiner in investigations and enforcement by CalOSHA, CalEPA and local agencies related to a power outage, contractor fatality and flaring event.
  • Defended chemicals manufacturer against alleged EPA Risk Management Program (RMP) violations.
  • Represented manufacturing company in investigations and enforcement by CSB, OSHA, and EPA related to a multi-fatality incident at a paper mill.
  • Defended large shopping center corporation against CalOSHA citations alleging violations of construction safety regulations.
  • Engaged by property/building management companies to audit and assess Proposition 65 compliance.
  • Assisted court-appointed monitor with oversight of post-indictment environmental compliance of global cruise line corporation.
  • Represented generic pharmaceutical corporation in Hatch-Waxman patent litigation.
