Stephen is a former Assistant United States Attorney for the Southern District of Florida and former Assistant State Attorney for Miami-Dade County and served as lead trial counsel or co-counsel in more than 30 trials to verdict in state and federal courts. 

Stephen is a member of Pillsbury's Litigation practice and based in Miami. He focuses his practice on high-stakes litigation, including representing corporate clients and individuals involved in government investigations, white collar matters, complex tort claims, and banking and insurance cases.

Representative Experience

  • Represented the United States in the investigation and prosecution of a wide range of federal crimes including international narcotics and arms trafficking, wire fraud and money laundering cases.
  • Defended hospitals, physicians, individuals and corporations in high damage exposure negligence claims.

  • Appointed by Governor Ron DeSantis as a Commissioner on Florida's Third District Court of Appeal Judicial Nominating Commission.
  • Member of the Federalist Society for Law & Public Policy and selected as an Executive Committee member of the Criminal Law & Procedure Practice Group.
  • Appointed by the Florida Supreme Court to serve on the Florida Bar's Standing Committee on the Unauthorized Practice of Law (2019 – 2022).
